PUSS - 3 evenings / Somerset House [Cameron Graham, Gary Zhexi Zhang, Klara Kofen]

  • Wapping Hydraulic Power Station, E1W 3SF (map)

Gary Zhexi Zhang, Klara Kofen, Cameron Graham: Puss

Puss is a robotic chamber play which reimagines a 17th-century fairytale about a cunning cat who is determined to help his penniless and witless master, the Boy, make his way in the world. A darkly enchanted picaresque journey paved with good intentions, Puss tells a story of bored gods, endless forgetting, and unforeseen consequences.

Through analogue and digital puppetry, Zhang, Kofen and Graham ventriloquise a motley cast starring a robotic dog in a live game-engine world, with a score for baroque instruments and electronics, along with live cellist Kirke Gross.

Emiliano Gavito and Adam Starkie from lovemusic joined forces with harpist Rhodri Davies to record Cameron Graham’s music for this new show as part of 3 Evenings hosted by Somerset House at Wapping Hydraulic Power Station.
