English clarinetist Adam Starkie performs mainly as a soloist and chamber musician in a diverse repertoire and with a particular interest for  contemporary repertoire. After a Bachelor of Music at the University of Leeds (England) with Dov Goldberg, Adam joined the class of Armand Angster at the Conservatoire de Strasbourg. There he obtained a perfectionnement diploma , a diploma of specialisation (contemporary repertory), his médaille d'or in bass clarinet before completing his studies with a masters of musical interpretation at the Academy of music of Strasbourg / Haute école des Arts du Rhin. He has followed masterclasses with international soloists such as Colin Bradbury (BBC Philharmonic) and Cristo Barrios. He regularly collaborates with ensembles such as Ensemble Linea, Accroche Note, Ensemble de l'Ill, Ensemble Zellig, the ensemble l'imaginaire, El Perro Andaluz, with whom he has premiered new works in festivals and concert halls across Europe, Asia and North America. He especially enjoys working with composers and had the opportunity to benefit from the advice of Helmut Lachenmann, Mark André, Luis de Pablo, Doina Rotaru, Aurélien Dumont, Ivan Fedele, Frédéric Durieux, Gualtiero Dazzi, Sohrab Uduman, Daniele Bravi amongst others. Adam is co-founder / artistic director of the collective lovemusic. The collective has performed in Japan, England, Germany, Spain, Mexico and France. lovemusic is committed to exploring all repertoires with important work in collaboration with today's composers complementing a programming that offers an original view of the present. Always interested in diversifying his activity Adam also plays in multidisciplinary formations. With the Ensembles 2.2 he participated in creating a sound installation for the artist Zahra Poonawala which has been exhibited in Tourcoing, Brussels, Barcelona, trasbourg and Vilnius.
